Cool show for children: Sid the Science Kid

Grace loves PBS Kids and if asked, she'll recite the PBS Kids web address (pbskids.org). Occasionally, she throws in "PBS Kids, where a kid can be a kid," but that tag line is from the Chuck E. Cheese commercial that runs after episode on PBS Kids. (Its very cute!)

Most recently, Grace was become obsessed with Sid the Science Kid, a new show on PBS created by the Jim Henson Company. The show encourages exploration and discovery of science for preschoolers. Sid and his friends, Gabriella, Gerald, and May work together using light humor that makes learning science fun.

Since the arrival of Sid the Science Kid, Grace's interest in science has magnified - she watches the show with a ruler (one of Sid's favorite measurement tools). I've noticed an heighten curiousity to explore and words like "invesigation," "question" and "discover" are used quite regularly.

Definitely check your local PBS station for Sid the Science Kid.
